From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (played by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to head to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Planners parties.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s last Overture episode, available to watch on October 24.
