Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of large-scale manufacturing for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. Three initial producers have begun manufacturing, with 11 more getting ready to establish production lines, Ukrainian military officials stated this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Proven in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs will be based on a domestically developed technology called “Octopus” engineered to neutralize Shahed drones. This technology has been tested in actual battle and demonstrated effective “during nighttime, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors each day.

Recent Attack on the Capital Characterized as Calculated

The Ukrainian president described Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and brutal” after six individuals lost their lives and many others injured in a wave of nocturnal attacks throughout Kyiv.
